KEY LEADERS WORKSHOP A BIG SUCCESS

On August 27 we trained 176 Key Leaders in our Northeast Florida Baptist Association Churches. Twenty of our churches were represented and seven pastors were in attendance. I’m convinced that one of the greatest needs we have in our churches is “Leadership Development”. Thank you to our Association staff, The Florida Baptist Convention staff and the churches who promoted and took advantage of this great training opportunity.

Next year the date for our Key Leaders Workshop has been set for August 26, 2010. It will follow the same format as this year but we will elaborate it somewhat.

ANNUAL MEETING SET FOR OCTOBER 8

Our annual meeting will be October 8 at Amelia Baptist Church. Our meeting will start at 5 pm. We will have finger food and fellowship from 6-7 pm and our evening worship session will begin at 7 pm. Bro. Rusty Bryan, pastor of Brandy Branch Baptist Church in Bryceville, will be our preacher for the evening session.

JOURNEY AWARENESS GROUP

Those interested in “Journey Awareness” will meet at the Association Office on Thursday morning, October 29, 10-12 (noon). This is an information meeting.

What is it?

Journey is designed to encourage church teams consisting of the Pastor, Sunday School/Small Groups Leader, and one other church leader to embrace the essential stages of healthy spiritual growth both personally and organizationally with the intention of community transformation.

Church teams will participate in a process of six sessions that will equip and challenge them to lead their Sunday School/Small Groups members to experience personal transformation, resulting in healthy growth organizationally and ultimately in community transformation. These sessions will occur in the evening time providing laymen opportunity to attend.

The health and growth of an organization can often times struggle or stall if the journey is not clear. This process is designed not only to clarify the journey you are leading your members to take, but also to help you in customizing the best journey for your church and community.

If you want more information on “Journey Awareness” I have material and a PowerPoint available to be sent. Please email me to request a copy.

Bro. David
